1. What Shubh Bhagya is

Shubh Bhagya (shubhagya.com) is a free web tool that computes Vedic (sidereal Lahiri) birth charts using the Swiss Ephemeris library and generates natural-language readings using third-party large language models (LLMs) applied to the classical Jyotish rules encoded in our software. It's built and operated by an individual (not an incorporated company), currently based in India.

2. Astrology disclaimer

Astrology in the classical Vedic tradition is treated as a lens for self-understanding and timing, not as a deterministic prediction of future events. The readings you generate on Shubh Bhagya reflect that same philosophy — they describe tendencies, potentials, and periods, not fixed outcomes. Even the most classical astrologer will tell you that free will and karma-in-motion always modulate what a chart shows.

Specifically, do NOT use Shubh Bhagya as a source for:

• Medical decisions — the "Health" section of any reading is not a diagnosis. Consult a licensed physician.
• Legal decisions — consult a licensed lawyer.
• Financial or investment decisions — consult a SEBI-registered advisor (India) or your local licensed equivalent.
• Marriage-go / no-go verdicts — Ashtakoot Guna Milan is a starting-point filter, not the final answer. A trained astrologer looking at both full charts + the 7th house lord + Venus + Upapada + Dashas is a different-quality reading than any automated tool.
• Predictions about death, terminal illness, or similar high-stakes outcomes — the /ask tool refuses these questions, and classical astrology traditionally does not answer them without extreme caution.

3. AI-generated content disclaimer

Chart-reading narratives (the natural-language sections on /kundli, /matching, /numerology, /ask, etc.) are produced by AI language models operating on your chart's computed placements. AI language models can and do produce plausible-sounding text that is inaccurate or generic. A trained human astrologer's intuition catches patterns that AI cannot — as one of our advisors put it, AI has "no connection with paramatma." We disclose this on the /ask page itself and repeat it here.

The underlying chart computations (planetary positions, dashas, yogas, Manglik detection, Sade Sati phase, Ashtakoot scores, Kaal Sarp geometry, etc.) are deterministic and sourced from the Swiss Ephemeris — these are as accurate as the astronomical algorithms allow (typically arc-second precision). The narrative interpretation layer that turns those computations into English/Hindi prose is AI-assisted and should be read with that in mind.

4. Free use, no warranty

Shubh Bhagya is free to use. Because it's free and provided as-is, we make no warranty about accuracy, availability, or fitness for any specific purpose. If the site is down, if a reading contains an error, if a Dasha date is off, if a Muhurat table doesn't match your local pandit's calculation — we'll do our best to fix it, but we don't promise to. You accept this as a condition of using the tool.

Specifically we make NO warranty that:

• The site will be available at all times
• Readings will be free of errors, omissions, or contradictions
• Dates or timings will match any specific school of classical practice
• The AI-generated narrative will be culturally appropriate for your specific tradition
• Your specific classical astrologer will agree with our computations

5. Your responsibilities

• Accurate birth data: the reading is only as good as the birth details you enter. If you don't know your exact birth time, the reading will be less reliable — especially the Lagna, Navamsha, and Dasha timing.
• Don't misuse /ask: the free 3-questions-per-day quota is per-cookie. Please don't abuse it via automated scripts or by clearing cookies to bypass the limit — every extra question we serve costs us something on the LLM providers' side, and abuse forces us to tighten the limit for everyone.
• Don't scrape: please don't scrape /rashifal, /panchang archives, or any other page programmatically. Use the site as a human.
• Don't pass off our content as yours: the article library (/learn) is written by us with classical citations. If you quote from it elsewhere, credit "Shubh Bhagya" with a link back.
• Adult use: the site is not directed at children under 18. Please don't create an account or generate readings for a child under 18 without a parent's involvement.

6. Intellectual property

Site design, code, article text, chart-rendering logic, and copywriting are ours. Classical Jyotish teachings, verses, and standard rules are the shared inheritance of the tradition and not owned by anyone. Third-party libraries (Swiss Ephemeris — AGPL; Tailwind, HTMX, various — MIT/BSD) are used per their licenses.

7. Changes to the service

We add, change, and occasionally remove features. If we deprecate something you rely on, we'll try to give warning on the affected page. If we change these Terms materially, the "Last updated" date at the top changes and — for signed-in users — a notice surfaces on /account. Immaterial edits (typos, clarifications) happen silently.

8. Termination

You can stop using Shubh Bhagya any time by simply not visiting the site. You can delete your data (see our Privacy Policy). We may terminate access for users who abuse the /ask quota, scrape the site, or otherwise misuse the tool in ways that harm other users or the service's viability — this is at our discretion and rare.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute goes to the courts of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, unless we mutually agree to arbitration first — which we'd prefer, honestly.
