A Vivah Muhurat is not merely an 'auspicious day' from a calendar. Classical tradition applies six specific criteria that must all align: Guru (Jupiter) and Shukra (Venus) visible above the horizon and uncombust, favourable tithi and nakshatra, no Panchak, no Chaturmas (Devshayani → Devuthani Ekadashi), no Kharmas (Sun in Sagittarius or Pisces), and no eclipse days. This tool checks all of these plus Dagdha tithi-weekday combinations and calls out Abujha muhurats (Tulsi Vivah, Basant Panchami, Akshaya Tritiya) that override normal scoring.

- ✓ Favourable nakshatra: Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Mula, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati
- ✓ No Panchak (Moon in Dhanishta latter half through Revati)
- ✓ No Chaturmas (Devshayani → Devuthani Ekadashi ≈ mid-July to mid-November)
- ✓ No Kharmas (Sun in Sagittarius ≈ mid-Dec to mid-Jan; Sun in Pisces ≈ mid-Mar to mid-Apr)
- ✓ No Dagdha yoga (Sun+Dwadashi, Mon+Ekadashi, Tue+Panchami, Wed+Tritiya, Thu+Shashti, Fri+Ashtami, Sat+Navami)
- ✓ No eclipse days (day of or ±1 day)
